A local podcast for local Counsellors - Kalm cast Podcast - St Helens
For anyone who knows me well will know I am always taking on the next challenge and pushing myself in discomfort , recording a podcast was no exception. January 2026 brought a new challenge , a new discomfort. Is it perfect ? No , I am sharing it anyway Yes !
I know full well how it feels to think about doing something , then think a bit more about doing something , then get distracted and then maybe some more thinking , you know were I am coming from here ...... Just pure procrastination ... .THINKING , THINKING , THINKING. I know full well the only way on breaking this cycle is through taking action and giving it a go , I really don't like failure ... it takes me a while to process and recover , but I come back with a lesson , an insight, a gentle strength.
Why I am sharing this with you ? a few reasons really , to let you know that I am a human first who feels fear ,anxiety and overwhelm and then I am a therapist who has a whole host of tools and strategies and awareness that can't hide from the human cycles of change and challenge. In a nutshell I was feared but I did it anyway.
The essence behind this podcast is for local counsellors and therapists in the north west of England to be seen , heard and hopefully connected to people who are searching for help and unsure were to turn. I often describe it as like a brought to life counselling directory. Even if just one listener who is looking for private therapy maybe after being on a long waiting list really connects with a counsellor guest that would be a great thing. I know private therapy isn't an option for everyone, however there are so many therapists that offer sliding scales of payment and sometimes it often takes a reframe , for many people it might be the same price as a weekly takeout.
Additionally I am writing this blog to highlight the opportunity for you as a counsellor , If you would like to come on the show , collaborate , talk about therapy in a No jargon kinda way, I would love to hear from you. Feel the fear and do it anyway. If you have ever supported a client through a fear , graded exposure could have been a tool you used to support them , same here. It isn't a jump right in kinda podcast , we would get together , have a cuppa , explore what is important that you would like to share about you and your helping service. We would then have a small plan. The atmosphere in the studio is really relaxed and supported and Al does a great job at making you feel at ease, here's more information about Hype Podcast Studios for your reference https://www.hypestudios.uk/ . This opportunity is for qualified helpers based in St Helens, Liverpool , Widnes , Runcorn, Halton , Widnes. For more information about being a counselling guest on the Podcast drop me a message at mrskalmkoach@gmail.com or contact me via the contact me tab.
That's an over and out from me.
warmest Wishes Lisa ( A counsellor from St Helens , Merseyside who felt the fear and recorded anyway)
